Jessica Simpson is getting mom-shamed for letting her daughter dye her hair purple.
The singer posted a photo of her 7-year-old Maxi at the salon with the tips of her blonde locks dyed purple.
The haters were quick to chime in, slamming Simpson’s parenting.
"Isn’t she too young to have her hair dyed?" was one comment.
"Why start ruining her hair so young?" was another comment.
But pop star Pink came to Simpson’s defense, blasting what she called the “Parent Police.”
The “So What?” singer posted a picture of her 8-year-old daughter, Willow, getting her hair dyed blue in solidarity with Maxi.
"I heard people were bummed on Jessica Simpson for letting her seven year old get her hair colored. So we thought we'd share what we did yesterday,” she wrote on Instagram.
Inside Edition spoke to hair stylist Carrie Butterworth to see if dyeing your child’s hair can be dangerous.
“It's the ends of the hair being dyed, they're using what's called a semi-permanent color, which means it washes out quickly,” she said. “It's only dangerous if you’re putting color on the scalp because their skin is a lot more sensitive and delicate than adult skin.”
